Musical education

This is what Maria Montessori wrote: “Music helps and enhances the ability to concentrate and adds a new element to the child’s conquest of inner order and psychic balance”.

Maria Montessori placed great value and importance in the musical education of children from a very young age. Children have an inborn capacity to appreciate music of all types along with an inclination to move, dance and produce music. Present in all cultures, music as a “universal language” adds a sensory dimension to life which few other means can do: it also provides a unique way of expressing one’s feelings and understanding those of others.

In our school, besides singing, listening and movement with their own teachers, there is also one hour every week of musical education with an expert in the field.

The technical-expressive proposals create an environment favorable to the perception of music as a vehicle of emotions and shared self-narration
